Maya & Boris | amazing international wedding at Folwark Ruchenka
The story of how I met Maya and Boris is rather unusual, because when they sent me the first emails it turned out we were all travelling in Japan, so our first meeting took place in wintery Kyoto. Shortly afterwards, we met for an engagement session in the blooming japanese orchards, and a year later I had the pleasure to capture their wedding day near Warsaw, at the beautiful Folwark Ruchenka.

It wasn’t my first wedding at Folwark Ruchenka, so I already knew that I would be greeted by the nicest owners (and a wonderful bunch of cats) and a wonderful homely atmosphere! This is one of those places that perfectly matches the idea of slow wedding – it has the most relaxed mood, the barn and its surroundings are so beautiful and make you want to stay longer (and the outdoor dancefloor is just the best!). This time it was the same, and the only thing I regret is that the wedding of Maja and Boris did not last three days, they created such a wonderful atmosphere there! The whole day was full of special moments, from the first meetings with loved ones who came from all over the world, through a beautiful ceremony and personally written oaths, to the father’s musical performance and numerous speeches that moved everyone (including me) to tears!
Wedding in the shades of blue
Rather unusually, the main colour was a subtle blue, and it will now always remind me of Maya and Boris! There were blue flowers in the bouquet and decorations, bridesmaids had blue dresses sewn specially for them, and Boris wore blue shirt and accessories. Gabrysia – the wedding planner, also took care of all the other details, and the effect was simply fantastic. This was one of those weddings, that I didn’t want to leave, and as you can see the last photo I took was shortly before the dawn.
